As the beginning of the season approaches, the Shamrocks on the golf team can hardly contain their excitement. “I can’t wait for the season to begin,” says senior Alison Ayala, one of the captains of the team. “We’re definitely going to district this year!”

After last year’s win at the TAPPS 5A district tournament, the girls are under a lot of pressure to do well. However, senior Kate Modrovsky , the team’s other captain, is unconcerned. “We’re really going to work hard to win state
this year,” she says with conviction. She anticipates many new team members this year, mostly freshman. Hopefully, she says that this year’s team will be as closely bonded as last year’s.

The golf team has already made plans to make this season a productive and successful year. The team is planning two fundraisers this year: Par 3 and Birdies for Charity. “We’re hoping to make enough money to buy different shirts for our uniforms and go to more tournaments,” says Kate.

Though the first tournament is fast approaching, the Shamrocks on the team feel confident that they will win.

Practicing Monday through Thursday starting mid September, the girls on the team hope to see many new faces, and maybe a trophy or two in the near future.
