He wants to give it back to the society.

Having had 15 bucks watches for a long time, taking economy class when he needs to go abroad for his work, living without a car or a house, Charles Feeney, also known as ‘Chuck’, gave away his fortune to the society.

Was born in New Jersey, Charles Feeney was one of the richest people in United States according to the record which was in October 1988 when Forbes magazine placed him as 23rd in the rank of the rich, and the property estimated was $1.3 billion.

Forbes magazine, at that time, only knew about his money and work process, however, Feeney was already giving away his fortune through his highly secretive Atlantic Foundation. Also, through his foundation, The Atlantic Philanthropies, he contributed the fortune, nearly $2.6billion, for 25 years to the universities, humanity groups and medical departments all over the world.

With the family background as the workingman, he did pretty much all the work he could do as the young man. Such as shoveling the snow during the wintertime to get the proper money he needed, working as the caddy at the golf place, selling Christmas cards, and he succeeded in the international business – what eventually became Duty Free shop.

As a philanthropist, Feeney believes in "giving while living" - that "the dollar you give today can be doing good tomorrow, giving five percent of it doesn't do so much good."

The Irish journalist Conor O’Clery presents his life and philosophy through the book he wrote. In this society, people are thinking about how we are going to have and get more than others, we should think about the way we could get the things that we already have and help others on our expenses.
